Friday is the most anticipated day of the term at Atatürk Primary School because it is 'Puppet Day'! Zeynep, Defne, and Ceylin have spent the whole week crafting finger puppets using felt, wool, and colorful buttons. Their teacher, Mrs. Rose, sets up a miniature puppet theater stage in front of the classroom.
Zeynep steps behind the wooden stage first. Her puppet has two round button eyes, curly orange wool hair, and a bright green felt dress. Zeynep speaks in a cute, cheerful voice: 'Hello, boys and girls! My name is Princess Penny. I love singing English songs and eating strawberries!' All the pupils giggle and clap.
Next, Defne and Ceylin bring out their wizard and puppy puppets to perform a funny dialogue about sharing crayons. Mrs. Rose applauds enthusiastically: 'You spoke wonderful English, kids! Your puppets and dialogues are fantastic!' The first semester English lessons come to life with joy and confidence!
